Garden In
A Box® is a new approach to planting your
garden for maximum yields with minimum effort. If you have ever
used containers or planters to garden on a deck or patio, you need
to move up to the Garden In A Box® raised bed
garden system. If you have ever put in a traditional garden with
10'x20' rows, you need to look at this revolutionary way to
generate greater yields in much smaller spaces. You no longer need
to dig up your grass before you get started. No more kneeling and
straining your back since there are seats that enable you to reach
anywhere in the box. NO more standing around for hours watering
plants, you just hook up your hose to the box for 15 minutes/week.
All the back breaking effort has been removed. You can have your
flower, vegetable, berry, salad, or children's garden set up
in a little over an hour. Invest once for a lifetime of
organic gardening. The Garden In A
Box® is made from a material designed to
withstand hurricanes, the hottest summers, and the coldest winters
without ever rotting or disentegrating. No more wood that
desintegrates over time or leaches chemicals into your soil. Built
with stainless steel and brass hardware designed NOT to ever rust
or fall apart. Garden In A Box® was
engineered to be easily assembled by teenagers or
grandparents. All tools are included. Plus you can put your
Garden In A Box® on your lawn, on sand, on
deck or a patio. Gardening has never been so easy until our
Garden In A Box®!
Make Gardening Easier!
Garden In A Box® is the first raised bed
garden system that is commercially available and includes things
that every gardener needs. Make planting your flowers, vegetables,
herbs and berries a much easier and more enjoyable task than
before with these items. For more information on our Garden
In A Box®, visit our box contents page.
Save Space! Save Time! Save
Money!
Traditional
gardens use rows for planting and walking. The 4'x4' Garden
In A Box take 80% less space to generate bigger and
better yields (approximately 20% more) because you never step in
the box and you have the right soil for the right plant. Because
you do not walk on the soil or seedlings and you only water the
roots, not the paths or the flowers or leaves, you save money. With
the weed cloth and pest screen, you get fewer weeds and pests so
you save effort and get better yields. Because you attach a hose to
the box, you save time from watering. Since you only need to plant
the seeds or transplants of full-size plants, you save money by
buying only what fits. You don't need to thin your young plants
because you only plant the right amount of seeds, thereby saving
time, money, and effort!
SQUARE FOOT GARDENING MADE EASY
Mel Bartholomew's ALL New Square Foot Gardening is a great book (published in 2007) that I encourage everyone to read. He understands the importance of the Garden In A Box concept. We have made many of his ideas now readily available to the public to purchase. We have even improved upon many of his concepts. We don't believe that 6 inches is deep enough for anything but herbs and some vegetables; larger plants such as roses and bamboo definitely need 12 inches. We also don't believe that one soil type works for all plants. His mix is better than your own soil in your yard, but why not tailor the soil in each box to the type of plants you want to grow in each box? Roses loves a different mix than veggies and bamboo loves a different mix than fruits such as strawberries. We also believe that seeds prefer a light mix to get started but more established plants prefer a much more nutrient rich soil and end of the season plants just love compost tea being readily available to their deepest roots. So why not layer your soil types in the box when you get started??? Mel is also more concerned about making everything cheap versus easy. Who wants to bend when you can sit while you plant? Who wants to negotiate with builders for free wood rather than just go and purchase what you want? Who has the time and energy to research non-corrosive fasteners to keep it all together when we have that done for you? Who wants to have to replace rotted wood when you can build your raised bed gardens once and enjoy them for a lifetime of organic gardening?? What Mel does have right is the spacing of plants. For this reason, you must get a copy of his book and read to know what is the ideal spacing for each of the vegetables that you may wish to plant. We have given you the proper guidelines for those we recommend but he has a much larger list.
